Party Season Outfit 5: Metallic Stripes
We are getting closer and closer to Christmas 2018 and I am loving every single moment. All of the photographs below where taken in The Piccadilly Arcade, Mayfair London. This arcade really has made Christmas spectacular.
You all know by now how much I love Mango clothing and this outfit is from this stunning store. When I saw this dress what drew me to trying it on was the metallic stripes. I wrote an article in the summer about why stripes are my favourite print which you can find here. This has now become my favourite winter print.
The metallic trend’s got a whole new motto for winter 2018. Designers have put the pedal to the metal, amping up mirror metallic finishes and iridescent fabrics. Shining on all of the major runways of fashion’s capitals, these looks bring a fresh sense of opulence to the always-colourful season. What better time to wear this then the festive period, right?
Many top designers used shiny textures and iridescent fabrics but it was Burberry Prorsum that set the metallic standard. Creative director Christopher Bailey showed dresses, capes and even swimwear in metallic blues, pinks, greens and yellows that were so intense, they brought new meaning to escapism. At Christian Dior, creative director Raf Simons placed thin shining layers over-top sophisticated stripes and feminine florals, effectively putting his stamp on the house.
Glimmery golds, shiny silvers and bold bronzes were all over the fashion runways. The metallic look has seen its fair share of popularity throughout fashion history. Always a popular choice for that all-eyes-on-you evening gown. The dress I am wearing is something that I would wear for dinner, if I was going out to the theatre or catching up with my best friends. It is so comfortable and easy to wear and I adore the colours. You all know that I love pink, glitter and a sparkle but sometimes I love wearing a rustic colour.
This dress is really flowy and I adore the V neckline. The neckline also has the three main colours that are in the dress:
It is a simple yet a busy dress at the same time. The look is captivating to the eye.
I purchased this black fur jacket which will be a staple in my wardrobe now forever (also from Mango). With the cold weather in London I need something warm to wear on top that looks pretty and that is exactly what this jacket does.
This jacket is so simple yet it brings the whole look together, so you can’t really go wrong!
With a look like this, nothing can beat a pair of nude heels. I have had this pair for years now. The statement is the dress so you need something that is not so striking for the heels.
This Mango bag is super cute. I love a boxed bag and the gold handle. When you look at an outfit, you need to think about everything – accessories and bags are just as important. The shine of the gold stands out and this looks beautiful against the black. Again, I can wear this bag in many different ways with numerous outfits.
The bag brings the whole of this outfit together.
I have opted for brown earrings which was actually given to me by a market store holder as a Christmas present in Budapest. These are simple, but again that is what you want because the emphasis is most certainly the dress.
