New Year 2019
There are no limits
We have said goodbye to 2018 and now we are welcoming a brand new year. A new year full of possibilities. I am so excited about this year and everything that I want to achieve and all the people I have yet to meet. My view is that the glass is always half full and never empty. I tend to look at the best of a situation and I always believe there is a solution. As long as your living anything is truly possible. One book that has played a massive part in my life is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and I honestly apply this to my life. We exercise our bodies but our mind is something that also needs work and ever since I have trained my mind my life has really transformed. For me, I use to stress a lot and I had anxiety but one thing that has helped me is to be in the present moment and exercise. Exercise has been a big part of me feeling amazing and now I crave the gym and can’t live without moving my body.
So as I go into 2019 the main aims for me this year are:
- Be healthy – eat all the right foods and exercise (no amount of money can pay for your health – body and mind)
- Surround myself with positive upbeat people that bring the best out of me and stay away from negative energy
- See a different part of the world I haven’t yet seen
- Meet new interesting people from all walks of life
- Complete my Amazon TV show and write a book and hopefully get it published
- Have great relationships with everyone in my life (my family, lover, friends, colleagues) and be a great daughter, sister, friend, colleague and lover
- Continue my blogging
I honestly believe the mind can be your best friend and worst enemy. When you know how to train it well – life can be pretty spectacular.
So enough of my aims for the year! I entered 2019 with one of my best friends Brooke (who is from New Zealand) and we went to the Bluebird in Chelsea. Chelsea is an area I adore in London and I wanted to enter this year as I mean to go on. Happy, positive and motivated! Of course to mark this occasion we ordered a bottle of champagne and we went all out with a beautiful meal.
The meal was scrumptious for the appetiser we had Roasted Pumpkin veloute, candied hazlenuts and soured cream. I am a vegetarian as you all know by now however in 2019 I will be turning a vegan and following a plant based diet. So, this was the last time that I could order cheese! I never thought I would be a full vegan but I am vegetarian anyway so it is easy for me (I will miss cheese) but its already been 13 days in January and I haven’t craved it so I am on track with going fully plant based now.
For the starter we ordered:
– Baked Vacherin, warm potatoes, walnut salad and black truffle
For mains we ordered:
– Roasted cep & Champagne risotto, Perigord truffle
For dessert we ordered:
Chocolate “bluebird” hazelnut, salted caramel
Brooke ordered some of the meat options.
Below are a selection of some of the photos of dinner
My favourite part of the meal was actually the dessert – it was almost too pretty to eat!! The car actually symbolises a garage as that is what Bluebird actually use to be.
The garage was built for the Bluebird Motor Company in 1923, designed to the very latest style by the architect Robert Sharp. At the time of its completion the garages were claimed to be the largest in Europe. At 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2), there was room for 300 cars in the main garage, a further 7,000 sq ft (650 m2) was given over to workshops. On either side of the garage two further buildings contained lounges and writing rooms. The lounges were segregated for ladies, owners and chauffeurs. The Bluebird is now a major attraction in Chelsea and a restaurant I adore on the Kings Road.
Dance baby, Dance
The music was phenomenal with a brilliant band and live music. The DJ even let me play some of my favourite songs! This was a black tie event and another opportunity to get dressed up. I love to get all done up so this was most certainly a chance to do this. My outfit was from &other stories and I wore a staple LBD (little black dress) that was velvet. Brooke matched me and wore navy velvet.
I love simple dresses and this did not disappoint at all. My hair was inspired by the 1920s Great Gatsy and looked chic and neat.
Great food, incredible music and my best friend – I couldn’t have started 2019 in a better way!
Next 12 months ahead …
There is so much that I have to achieve and get done this year but I couldn’t have started this year off in a more positive way! Bring on the next twelve months, 2019 I’m coming for you. I want to wish you the best year ahead that is full of love, health and happiness xxx
