Mayfair is definitely one area of London I love. The area is fashionable, makes me feel good and I always have a great time when I go. This area is also home to one of my favourite pubs in London – The Punchbowl. This place is has become one of my best friend Brooke’s and mine local hangout. I can quite literally spend the whole day here.
I knew for a Christmas meal with friends that this was a place I want too come! This is one of Mayfair’s oldest pubs, and they definitely know a thing or two about good food and wine and this is a place you can unwind. In London all of my friends live in different areas – so this is a nice central location that is easy for everyone to come too. The best bit – it is right in the centre of the city in Zone One.
Tucked away on a quiet side street, there are three very different dining experiences to suit your mood. Whether relaxing with a pint of ale and a plate of fish and chips in the Pub, savouring rich culinary creations in the Dining Room or enjoying an exclusive private dinner in The Club, you’ll find only the finest in great British food, service and comfort awaits.
We had a booth in the pub but many times me and Brooke have been in the dining room upstairs. This pub was actually owned by Madonna and Guy Ritchie.
This was also a comfortable place to exchange Xmas gifts.
You definitely should check this out. The address is 41 Farm St, Mayfair, London W1J 5RP.
Before meeting up with friends and on our way to The Punchbowl we walked passed the stunning private members club – Annabel’s. Now, I have to say this is one of the most stunning Christmas displays in London that I have seen. Absolutely gorgeous.
The swanky innards of Mayfair club Annabel’s now has a facade to match thanks to this whopping great triangle of festive cheer. It has presents cascading down its front along with red baubles and sparkly lights, and a star shining brightly at the top. This is too cute – of course I stopped for an Instagram snap.
Night Cap at The Lanesborough
The rest of my friends headed off too Winterville however me and Brooke decided we wanted a nightcap and spent another 4 hours talking. You would think after spending the WHOLE DAY together you would have nothing to talk about but of course we did. We headed to The Lanesborough . This hotel is super gorgeous and so relaxing. Hyde Park Corner tube is right next too the hotel so you can easily pop onto it when your leaving.
We ended up in The Withdrawing Room which is light and informal. It is also sumptuously decorated with hand-painted trompe l’oeil marbling and chandeliers, it offers a luxurious yet relaxing ambience, complemented by a sumptuous tea collection, premium coffees and light bites.
If you are in Mayfair and want a festive lunch:
- Head over to The Punchbowl
- Then after eating all that food the short walk to The Lanesborough will be amazing – head on over for a night cap
