The D and AD Festival 2019
So apart from the world of blogging, making a TV show and Youtubing I am also a Chartered Marketer and I am currently working for a super creative company – Global!
I am pretty sure you have heard this name as they are home to some of the best radio stations in the UK including Heart, Capital and LBC.
They also have a huge outdoor marketing division and it is just a fun, fast paced environment to be in. I love anything in media so I definitely feel at home here.
So, I was asked to attend the amazing D and AD Festival in shoreditch this week and I totally loved it.
So what is the D and AD Festival?
D&AD Festival is a three-day creative spectacular celebrating the world’s best in craft, creativity and culture, hosted at The Old Truman Brewery, London.
The festival runs alongside the world renowned awards programme. There are three days of keynotes, fireside chats, workshops and masterclasses from the world of advertising, art, design, fashion, film, and much more. Basically a creatives dream festival.
I attended many workshops. One that I loved was the Microsoft Surface. I could sit on the MAC and play around it for days.
Sony also had a super fun workshop where you design your own watch and it shows up. I entered myself in for the competition so lets see what happens there!
The adobe workshops where useful as well as all of the interesting products advertising companies had produced. I also loved the actual interactive workshops of making tote bags and watching 3D animations.
There was a fantastic concept someone designed of a bird cage. The idea behind this is that you put your phone in the bird cage and it stops calls. How cool is that? Less time on the mobile phone and more family time.
There where many different talks however the one that stood out for me was Debbie Millman – she is the host of podcast “Design Matters”. I loved her talk as she spoke so much about how much rejection she had to face in this creative world.
I would give this creative festival a 10/10 and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Working in a creative environment is something I am thriving in and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
