Snake Print – It’s a jungle out there
Why is everyone obsessed with the snake print?
Animal prints are a HUGE trend at the moment. I recently wrote about the dalmatian print however one print that EVERYONE is backing is the snake print.
In fact, hashtags like #snakeprint and #snakeskin are dominating the photo sharing platform right now. While the former currently has more than 111,093 posts, the latter holds an impressive 474,197.
The high street is listening too. Almost every store, from Zara (which my blazer is from) to Topshop, New Look and & Other Stories, is tapping into the trend all the easier with a consistent drop of pieces covered in the print.
Snakeskin trend doesn’t surprise me in the least. With the movement towards animals prints—like leopard, zebra, tiger, and crocodile—snakeskin is a natural evolution. What I personally love about the trend is how versatile it is.
How to wear snakeskin
Wear a miniskirt with a crewneck sweater and ankle boots, and you have a cool take on a classic outfit. On the other hand, you can really lean into these prints by pairing snakeskin pants with a leopard top —a daring take on the trend. I wear snakeskin in smart way at work and I love a blazer. My colleagues have complemented me on my blazer and it makes something formal not boring.
Colours of the jungle
As I am wearing an animal print I choose to wear a green skirt for a “jungle” vibe. I love wearing the colours of the earth and I don’t think any other colour would be more appropriate for this.
All of the focus is on the blazer so all of the accessories need to be minimalist as possible. My adorable bag complements my blazer and brings out the green in my skirt. I have said in many of my articles that “less is more” and there is no difference this time around.
There is a phase to describe the fashion world and that is – ‘It’s a jungle out there”. Fashion stylists, editors and the runway alike, everything from coats to shoes have been covered in animal print.
And whilst leopard print has been the clear front-runner over the years, most notably in the form of Victoria Beckhams’s AW18 coat, both tiger and zebra print had a look in last season.
The snake print has taken the fashion world by storm – London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks alike, glimpses of the reptilian pattern are working their way into wardrobes everywhere.
These adorable boots match like heaven with this outfit. I love the cute heel, the thing is silver can be used in two ways (either a dressed up way or like a nude). These metallic heels do not take any focus away from my printed blazer. So I recommend silver is a brilliant option.
The earrings I am wearing are simple studs. One of my best friends Becky got this for me for Christmas and they are super cute. For this outfit, studs are a must.
I adore this outfit and cannot to buy more snake print clothing. You can shop my blazer below.
