Layering my clothes
One way I love to wear pieces of my clothing is to layer them up. That’s right – layer it up to make it look trendy and also keep warm (double amazing). In this article I am going to discuss the best possible way to layering clothes.
Step 1: Basic Top
The first thing to notice is that I am wearing a premium funnel next t-shirt. When you are layering it is important to start with a basic top and then work from there. I would suggest a solid, black (like I am wearing) or a neutral colour.
Step 2: Add a layer of your choice
The next stage is to add another layer. In this instance I have added a giraffe boxy – shirt. Animal prints have been so popular and I have written numerous articles about them. One of the articles that I have written about the animal print can be found here.
Animal prints have taken the fashion world by storm and I adore the giraffe print. Wearing the animal print actually became so popular in the 1960s during the Bohemian Movement (I am a girl that adores wearing boho clothing).
Step 3: Add a jacket
After you have chosen the layer of your choice team this up with a jacket. I decided to wear the double pocket denim jacket which is super adorable. I wear this in so many different ways so this is a true staple in my wardrobe. You also want to keep warm (especially in London) so this jacket will provide that. I have written an article about why I love denim so much which you can find here.
I am wearing my hair in a messy bun as I wanted to create the boyfriend look. It is very simple to do and and takes seconds.
Step 4: Sprinkle accessories
I have decided to wear black studs as this complements my t-shirt and my jacket. You could also think about wearing a scarf or bracelet. The layering look definitely needs accessories.
Step 5: The trousers or skirt?
So after you have layered your top half you definitely need to start to think about what you will be wearing on the bottom. I am wearing the corduroy peg trousers. First of all I love the details, the buttons are super adorable. The material is so easy to wear and is perfect for the mix of both professional and casual situations.
This is a retro-inspired look with high-waisted corduroy trousers in a peg silhouette featuring a tapered hem and double button fastening in cream. This looks extremely chic and also is so comfortable. I have to say this is one item of clothing that I have in my wardrobe that is super easy to wear.
I adore wearing peg trousers. The trousers are close-fitting and the strech fabric makes this so easy to wear. I love the fact that they are wide at the hips and taper off towards the ankle.
In a city like London we most definitely need to layer our clothing – I hope this look provides you inspiration. You can shop this below.
